Absolutely beautiful 1911 Mammoth Ivory Compact/Officers Grips light color like elephant ivory and very good figure/grain.  The only other Magwell set we have in a compact grip.  The panel on the right in the photo (the guns left panel) has a very small fracture to the right of the upper screw.  These grips came out of a section of Imperial mammoth tusk that we cut up, if it were not for that fact and the slightly different end grain pattern (schraeger lines) I would think these were modern elephant ivory. Mammoth ivory does not get any better that this, we have used the last of it.  Cross screws are shown as an option, we recommend the Renaissance wax to protect the ivory.  These will not fit a full size 1911 frame.  We paid 5 times the going rate for this ivory, that is why these grips are more expensive.

Made from genuine woolly mammoth check your local state laws. This ivory is at least 10,000 years old and we use only the best quality to insure that they are as tough as modern elephant ivory but, with the magic that only extinct prehistoric mammoth ivory has.
